Albert J. Forsythe
Firefighter
Firefighter Albert J. Forsythe, while transporting a critically ill child to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, died in the line of duty, when suddenly the ambulance he was responding in went out of control during a heavy rainstorm and swerved into a utility pole.
Albert was 30 years of age and a lifetime resident of West Deptford Township, residing at 1305 Lafayette Ave, Colonial Manor. He was a World War II Veteran and a dedicated member of the Verga Fire Company #1.

He was survived by his wife Doris M., his son John E., his two daughters, Patricia Ann and Linda J., his parents Mr. & Mrs. Earl J. Forsythe of Verga. Also, his four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Matteo of Woodbury Terrace, Mrs. Bonita Hinkson and Mrs. Natalie Alestra, both of Verga, and Mrs. Jean Boswell or Ford Estates.
After his death in 1958, the Verga Fire Hall was rebuilt and dedicated in his memory.
